About the GOLD STANDARD Initiative

Now accepting nominations for the Gold Standard Customer Service Award!

The Fort Valley State University GOLD STANDARD Initiative is a dynamic program designed to empower students, faculty, and staff to shape and elevate the FVSU community. In collaboration with the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, this initiative aims to celebrate the Wildcat experience while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence that will transform our campus climate. 

The FVSU Student GOLD Standard Initiative operates on five tenets: School Pride, Self-Pride, Empathy, Honesty, and Commitment, which every member of the FVSU community is encouraged to embody.
  1. School Pride: Believing in the overall University mission and thus renewing your commitment to your education at Fort Valley State University. 
  2. Self-Pride: A feeling of self-respect and personal worth.
  3. Empathy: The ability to recognize, understand, and share the thoughts and feelings of others. 
  4. Honesty: Always display integrity, respect, fairness, truthfulness, and sincerity. 
  5. Commitment: An unwavering promise of academic excellence, integrity, campus engagement, and loyalty to Fort Valley State University.

The Gold Standard Objective

Our goal is to establish and maintain a standard of excellence at Fort Valley State University. We aim to challenge actions and behaviors that don't align with our values by asking a simple yet powerful question: “Is that The Gold Standard?” This question encourages us all to uphold our integrity and strive for the highest quality in everything we do.

 

Gold Standard Award: Nominations Are Open!

We are thrilled to announce that the Gold Standard Customer Service Award nomination portal will open on November 14! This award honors individuals who go above and beyond, embodying exceptional dedication, professionalism, and care in their service. Now is the time to recognize those who set the bar high in customer experience.

Nominate your colleagues or peers who deserve to be celebrated for their outstanding contributions. Nominations will be open until December 14, so don't miss this opportunity to showcase the leaders of exemplary service!
