Fort Valley State University’s Cooperative Extension Program, and the Georgia Residential Energy Efficiency Network (GREEN), will host the “Virtual Energy Efficiency Workshop” on Wednesday, June 17 from 10-11 a.m.
Billy Brown, FVSU’s energy educator for the GREEN project, is the speaker for the free one-hour workshop. Brown will discuss topics such as home energy audits, energy efficient lighting and energy efficient appliances. A brief question and answer period will follow if time permits.
Underserved, low-to-moderate income individuals, homeowners, renters and the general public are invited to participate.
“People can learn about low-to-no cost ways of saving on their utility bills and practice energy conservation,” Brown said.
The FVSU energy educator said since the COVID-19 pandemic, people are at home longer and their utility bills are much higher. “Normally, a homeowner could save between $25-$50 per month with the energy efficiency tips used by the GREEN project,” Brown said.
Pre-registration is required to be eligible for door prizes. Door prizes include energy efficiency kits valued at $250. To register, visit bit.ly/green-virtual-workshop-reg or contact Brown at (478) 825-6368 (brownb@fvsu.edu).
