Generative AI Resources
This is a short list of GenAI products that have been identified as valuable tools in teaching and learning in higher education. All products mentioned have a free version unless otherwise noted.
Microsoft CoPilot is the official FVSU GenAI platform, protected by the FVSU Single Sign On (SSO) authentication and accessed through MyApps. This product links with your other Microsoft products, such as (but not limited to) Outlook, OneDrive, and TEAMS.
Adobe has built-in GenAI features that are included in the institutional licensing. These would be accessed when using the product provided by FVSU.

Google Notebook LM has proven useful as a learning tutor. This product has pre-programmed bots that generate quizzes, flashcards, audio blogs, mind maps, and similar resources to enhance learning and reflection. Try Notebook LM. - Claude AI
Claude AI is the AI of choice for many researchers, educators, and students as it uses Socratic programming and responses. Its “learning mode” uses Socratic questioning to prompt students to think through problems rather than just providing answers, while also assisting teachers with administrative and content-creation tasks. Try Claude AI. - Perplexity AI
Perplexity AI is used in education to support research, enhance learning, and improve teaching efficiency by providing up-to-date answers with source citations. Try Perplexity AI. - Ollama
Ollama is an open, flexible model that can be downloaded to various devices and used with or without internet access. This product has been found helpful in areas with weak or no internet signal and during emergencies when the internet infrastructure is down. Read more about Ollama.
