Students, family members, and guests are invited to attend Fort Valley State University's Fall 2024 Commencement exercises on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. We want to extend our congratulations the graduating students and their families on this momentous occasion.

Commencement Timeline

Rehearsal: Friday, December 6, 2024 in HPE. Rehearsal is for graduating candidates ONLY.

Commencement Date: Saturday, December 7

Commencement Location: HPE

Doors Open: 7:00 AM

Line Up for Candidates: 8:15 AM

Processional Begins: 9:15 AM

Commencement Begins: 9:30 AM

Graduate 1

Tickets

Graduates will be allocated 12 tickets for their guests. Children under 3 do not require tickets.

No re-entry is allowed once you exit the venue.

Special Accommodations

  • Handicap parking is available in the HPE lot. Arrive one hour early.
  • Only service animals are permitted (documentation required).
  • ASL interpretation will be available. Arrive early for seating.

Cap and Gown

Caps and gowns can be purchased at: Herff Jones.

Graduate 4

Clear Bag Policy

Fort Valley State University has enacted a clear bag policy for all events held at Wildcat Stadium and HPE. Bags that are non-clear and/or are larger than those outlined in the policy will not be allowed in the stadium.

  • Food
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Tobacco (including smokeless and e-cigarettes)
  • Aerosol cans/sprays
  • Coolers or ice chests
  • Balloons
  • Thermos/metal bottles
  • TVs
  • Strollers 
  • Ice bags
  • Bags (not compliant with Clear-Bag Policy)
  • Horns or other noisemakers (bells, whistles, etc.)
  • Laser pointers
  • Selfie sticks
  • Cameras with lenses longer than 4″
  • Sticks or flag poles
  • Flags or banners larger than 3′ x 5′
  • Pets/Therapy animals
  • Weapons, including those carried with a permit
  • Fireworks or other explosives
  • Illegal drugs
  • Strollers
  • Personal transportation devices (skateboards, hoverboards, scooters, etc.)
  • Inflated balls of any type
  • Stadium seats (chair-backs/seat-backs/seat cushions) WITH arms, pockets, compartments, and/or covers
  • Umbrellas
  • Electric/battery-powered blankets
  • Personal heaters
  • Any other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by security or event management
