CAMPUS ADVISORY - Campus Closure - Inclement Weather

As we monitor the effects of Hurricane Helene, all Fort Valley State University campuses, including retail locations (Bookstore, Chick-fil-A, etc.) will be closed Thursday, September 26 after 2 pm and all day on Friday, September 27. Fort Valley is under a hurricane warning. A Hurricane Warning means hurricane-force winds are expected somewhere within this area within the next 36 hours.

All classes and events are suspended beginning at 2 pm on Thursday, September 26. Please update your voicemail to indicate that offices will be closed. Housing, Facilities, FVSU Campus Police and other employees deemed essential are expected to report to campus. If you are not in one of these departments and your position is deemed essential, you will be contacted to report to work. If there are any questions or concerns, contact your supervisor.

 

Students residing in Ohio Hall will have meals delivered at the times indicated below:

Dinner from 4 – 4:30 pm

Brunch from 10 – 10:30 am

Students residing in Wildcat Commons 1-7 and those with a meal plan who reside off-campus will be served meals in the Wildcat Clubhouse at the following times:

Dinner - Thursday, September 26 from 4 – 6 pm

Brunch - Friday, September 27 from 10 am – 1 pm

Dinner – Friday, September 27 from 4 – 6 pm

Severe storms can cause major damage and risk lives. Wildcats, your well-being is our utmost priority, and we encourage you to take the necessary precautions to remain safe during severe weather events.

 

FVSU will continue to monitor the storm and provide updates, if necessary. In the event of emergency circumstances requiring immediate action, a Rave Guardian Alert will be issued. Click here to ensure that your communication preferences with Rave Guardian are current.
