University DirectoryDr. Darryl Hancock is the director of online learning at Fort Valley State University. Prior to coming to FVSU, Dr. Hancock served at Middle Georgia College/State University as an instructional designer and director of distance learning for 15 years and as the director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for over two years. Prior to his time at Middle Georgia, he taught 12 years in the Hillsborough Public Schools in Tampa, Florida. He is certified in Quality Matters, D2L, and Brightspace and has experience in web design and multimedia development. He has delivered workshops throughout the University System of Georgia, and in Florida, California, and Wisconsin on topics including online instructional methods, course design and development, facilitation, assessment, addressing academic dishonesty, and the incorporation of multimedia.
A graduate of Southwest High School in Macon, GA, Dr. Darryl Hancock earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Florida State University and a master’s degree in music education from the University of South Florida (USF). He earned the educational specialist degree in curriculum and instruction, specializing in instructional design, from USF and a doctorate in education administration from Georgia Southern University.
