The Fort Valley State University community gathered in excitement for the unveiling of the highly anticipated Greek Plaza, a space dedicated to honoring the legacy and impact of historically Black fraternities and sororities as well as United Council of Fraternities and Organizations (UCFO).

The event, held on Thursday, February 20, brought together students, alumni, faculty and staff to witness a momentous occasion in FVSU’s history. Representatives from the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and the UCFO stood proudly as they revealed their organization’s Greek letters, officially cementing their presence on campus in a lasting way.

Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Timothy L. Hatchett, Ph.D., delivered remarks recognizing the contributions of Greek life to the university’s culture, leadership and service. NPHC President Xavier McIntire emphasized the significance of the plaza in preserving the legacy of the Divine Nine and other fraternal organizations at FVSU.

In a defining moment, representatives of the organizations came together for the official ribbon-cutting, marking the Greek Plaza as an enduring tribute to scholarship, leadership, and brotherhood/sisterhood. As the ribbon fell, applause erupted, and members of each organization cheered, celebrating a new era for Greek life at FVSU.
