FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY CONTINUES ENROLLMENT GROWTH TREND

Fort Valley, GA"” Full time equivalent student enrollment for Fall 2018 grew 1.9% year over year at Fort Valley State University, the university announced this week. Overall enrollment was up as well"” growing by 0.9% to total 2,776 undergraduate, graduate, and online students. This growth continues an upward trend, including Summer 2018 enrollment growth of 18.8%, the fourth largest in the state university system. FVSU's enrollment has increased each of the past three years.
"FVSU's enrollment is headed in the right direction," said Dr. Paul Jones, FVSU president. "We continue to refine our academic programs to deliver the most effective and relevant instruction, expand co-curricular opportunities for leadership and service, and design ways to deliver content by embracing technology. Our commitment to creating the College of the Future is showing in our ability to attract talented students."
FVSU continues to enhance its state and national reputation, having been named the #1 public HBCU in Georgia by U.S. News and World Report earlier this year. The institution bests all other state public teaching colleges in federal science, technology, engineering, and math research, and is listed as the top affordable online program in areas including psychology and rehabilitation counseling.
