Frank Mahitab is a professional librarian at the Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia for the past 20 years. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Bombay University, India, a CIS from DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia and his graduate degree in Library Science (MLS) from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Frank moved up the professional ranks from being a librarian instructor to assistant professor to associate professor. In his career as a librarian, Frank supervised circulation services at Savannah State University and reference services at Fort Valley State University. He was promoted to coordinator of public services at Hunt Memorial Library, appointed assistant director of library for 3 years, interim director of library for 7 years, and has been director of library services since April 2014.
Frank has been a resident of Kathleen, Georgia for 19 years. Over the years he has also lived in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia. By being involved and staying positive, Frank makes each day count - reaching out in fellowship, practicing patience and goodwill. One of his favorite sayings is by Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world."
He is married to Paula Bloodworth of Macon, Georgia. They have one son, Immy Bloodworth Mahitab and
