Fort Valley State University Hosts an Engaging and Informative Open House

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, Fort Valley State University welcomed prospective students and their families to an exciting and immersive Open House experience. Designed to provide a firsthand look into the vibrant academic and campus life at FVSU, the event brought together passionate campus administrators, student leaders, staff and faculty to showcase all that the university has to offer.
Attendees were greeted with an energetic welcome from the renowned Blue Machine Marching Band and the harmonious voices of the University Choir, setting the tone for a day filled with exploration and connection
One of the highlights of the day was the student experience panel, where student leaders addressed frequently asked questions from incoming freshmen. This session provided an authentic perspective on life at FVSU, offering valuable insights into academics, extracurriculars, and the overall Wildcat experience.
Prospective students also participated in campus tours, where they explored key locations such as academic buildings, residence halls, Fambro’s Dining Hall and historical landmarks that make FVSU unique. These tours allowed future Wildcats to envision themselves thriving within the university’s dynamic environment.

The event also featured an Organization and Resource Fair, where attendees had the chance to connect with representatives from academic programs, extracurricular activities, clubs, organizations, and key student support offices. This provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the resources available to ensure their success at FVSU.
In addition to student-focused activities, parents of future Wildcats were given the opportunity to engage in a parent panel featuring key FVSU faculty and staff. This session allowed families to gain a deeper understanding of the Wildcat experience and the university’s commitment to student success.
Another integral part of the Open House was the Academic Showcase, where students heard directly from the deans of each college and academic program. These sessions highlighted the diverse educational opportunities available at FVSU, helping prospective students make informed decisions about their academic future.
