FVSU ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF DR. RALPH C. NOBLE AS DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, FAMILY SCIENCES, AND TECHNOLOGY

Fort Valley, GA"” Fort Valley State University (FVSU) today announced the appointment of Dr. Ralph C. Noble as the dean of the College of Agriculture, Family Sciences, and Technology (CAFST). Dr. Noble currently serves as the chair of the Department of Animal Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he also supervises department academics, research, and outreach programs as well as the university farm and various community activities. CAFST continues to solidify its global leadership in key areas such as plant science and small ruminants, and is expanding academic programming and research in cutting-edge fields such as genome decoding, biotechnology, bioinformatics, renewable energy production, and sustainability. Dr. Noble will join the FVSU family on July 1, 2019.
"As an 1890 Land-Grant institution, we have a unique role that we play in the advancement of agriculture and related areas in our state, the nation, and around the world," said Dr. T. Ramon Stuart, FVSU provost and vice president of academic affairs. "We look forward to moving our College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology to new heights under the leadership of Dr. Noble as we continue to meet our Land-Grant mission."
Dr. Noble's professional experience includes serving as chair of the National Goat Consortium National Conference, coordinating animal, poultry, and veterinary sciences research, outreach, and academic programs at Tuskegee University, and serving as acting director of the George Washington Carver Agricultural Experiment Station at Tuskegee University. His research interests include improving reproductive management, overcoming infertility, food production and goat production. He has delivered over 100 presentations on livestock production to small and limited resource farmers, agricultural specialists, rural community organizations, and students. His publications and proceedings have included his work on enrollment growth models at an 1890 Land-Grant Institution, life choices for young men, livestock production, and global food security.

Dr. Noble earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural sciences and a Master of Science degree in animal sciences from Tuskegee University, as well as a Ph.D. in reproductive physiology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He is married to Dr. Debra T. Noble.
