FVSU announces the departure of Dr. Anthony Holloman
Posted on Aug 02, 2022
Dear FVSU Community,
I am pleased to congratulate Dr. Anthony Holloman, vice president for Advancement, Athletics director, and executive director for the FVSU Foundation, on being selected as the eleventh commissioner for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The SIAC Council of Presidents announced his appointment on Monday, August 1. He will assume his new role on September 1, 2022.
The SIAC made an outstanding choice in recognizing Dr. Holloman as a strategic, focused, and accomplished leader. I am confident that Dr. Holloman will provide the SIAC with the same commitment, passion, and visionary leadership demonstrated at FVSU during his time here.
Dr., Holloman has been an outstanding trailblazer and multitalented partner since his arrival at FVSU in 2017. Known for his ability to multitask at the highest levels, he has been vital in various roles at FVSU, including managing FVSU's fundraising and friend-raising relationships resulting in record-setting donations. He also has grown the number of donors, strengthened partnerships, and improved the development infrastructure for the university. On the Athletic side, Dr. Holloman was responsible for increasing financial support for athletics programs while continuing to enhance operational effectiveness in the division. He also implemented new programming related to services and academic support for student-athletes.
Dr. Holloman's willingness to devote his exceptional time and talents to our institution has been outstanding. Although his dynamic presence will be missed here at FVSU, I could not be more delighted for his appointment as commissioner of the SIAC. I look forward to continuing to work with him as he guides our athletic conference to new heights.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Holloman and thanking him for his remarkable service to Fort Valley State University as he enters a bold, new chapter.
We will announce a transition plan soon, as we conduct a national search to locate the best possible candidates to fill these positions.
Paul Jones, Ph.D.
President
