Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act – Additional Funds
Section 18004(a)(2) of the CARES Act states that institutions may use funds “to address needs directly related to coronavirus” and specifically “for grants to students for any component of the student’s cost of attendance (as defined under section 472 of the Higher Education Act), including food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care.” Students may have needs directly related to the coronavirus after the semester or quarter in which the national emergency was declared.
Fort Valley State University will make emergency grants funds available during the 2020-2021 aid year to students who have directly been impacted by the coronavirus.
To qualify for these additional emergency financial aid grants a student must:
- Be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours
- Complete the CARES Act Distribution form below
- Provide supporting documentation (letters, bills, receipts, etc.) This is not required for the 2021 PAWS Summer School Program
Students applying for the 2021 PAWS (Pandemic Assistance for Wildcat Students) Summer School program only need to be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours and complete the form below. No additional supporting documentation is required to apply for PAWS.
