A Flexible, Career-Focused MSW Program

FVSU’s 100% online MSW program offers synchronous learning, providing real-time engagement with seasoned faculty who are experienced clinical practitioners. Whether you attend full-time or part-time, you will gain the clinical expertise required to serve in your specialty area with a curriculum shaped by cultural humility, a strengths-based approach, and a commitment to social justice.

Program Options:

  • Full-time track (2 years, 54 credit hours)
  • Part-time track (3 years, 54 credit hours)
  • Advanced Standing (1 year, 30 credit hours) for students with a CSWE-accredited BSW

Courses emphasize assessment, diagnosis, evidence-based interventions, policy practice, advocacy, and leadership, preparing students to engage in direct clinical practice, shape policy, and drive systemic change.

Designed for All Backgrounds

Whether you are a seasoned professional looking to advance your career or transitioning into the field, FVSU’s MSW program offers two tracks to fit your background:

  • Advanced Standing Track (1 Year, 30 Credit Hours) - For students with a BSW from a CSWE-accredited institution.
  • Regular Standing Track (2 or 3 Years, 54 Credit Hours) - For students with a bachelor’s degree in another discipline.

Our curriculum is designed around CSWE’s 2022 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS), ensuring that you develop:

  • Clinical assessment, diagnosis, and intervention planning

Your Path to a Meaningful Career

Graduates of FVSU’s MSW program will be fully prepared for licensure and careers in high-demand areas such as:

  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) - Immediate licensure eligibility upon graduation
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Eligible after 36 months of direct work experience and 24 months of clinical supervision
