Fort Valley State University has reopened The Vault, featuring Tommy’s Closet, a unique downtown Fort Valley location where FVSU students can access professional clothing, toiletries, and food. Tommy’s Closet honors the late Thomas W. Dortch Jr., an FVSU alum and former President of Atlanta’s 100 Black Men, renowned for his contributions to youth mentoring, nonviolence, economic development, and education.

This service is made possible through ongoing generous and engaged Alumni, charitable fundraising and generous donations. The availability of items is dependent on these contributions and financial resources. We aim to offer a wide range of products while maintaining cost efficiency and addressing the basic needs of the FVSU community.

About our Food and Clothing Pantry

The Pantry will provide non-perishable food items, clothes and basic supplies to food insecure students. We try to provide as much variety as possible while still maintaining cost limitations and providing for the basic needs for those who need assistance.

This protocol outlines the guidelines for the frequency and utilization of The Vault ft. Tommy’s Closet. The Vault aims to provide essential resources to support students in need, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
