Admission Requirements for Transfer Students
COLLEGE CREDIT REQUIREMENT

Students seeking Transfer Student admission must have a minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter credit hours of college-level courses.

Transfer applicants with less than 30 semester or 45 quarter hours must meet freshman admission requirements.
GPA REQUIREMENT

Students seeking Transfer Student admission must have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.0 for consideration.
PREVIOUS INSTITUTION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

Students seeking Transfer Student admission must be in good standing and eligible to return to their current college or university.

Applying as a Transfer Student
STEP 1: SUBMIT AN APPLICATION.
Our application is quick and straightforward! You can Find Your Spark and begin the journey to Ignite Your Light at FVSU in two ways.

Apply with Common Black College Application (CBCA)
You can save time applying to your top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through the Common Black College Application. Add Fort Valley State University to your top five schools so we can pull your application.
STEP 2: SUBMIT YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
Submit your official transcript with GAFutures.
Your counselor or school administrator can share your official transcript via GAFutures.org. Simply send them a request through the platform to get the process started.
