Double Distinction: Fort Valley State University Co-Valedictorians Inspire Excellence

Posted on May 09, 2024

Fort Valley State University is thrilled to announce that this year's graduating class will have two valedictorians, for the first time in recent years. This remarkable achievement showcases the exceptional academic excellence and dedication of students.

The co- valedictorians, Elisha Cloy and Jamyra Hayes, have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their studies, setting a new standard for scholarly achievement.
Their hard work, intelligence, and perseverance have rightfully earned them this prestigious honor. Both students tied in academia by having a perfect 4.0-grade point average, as well as having the same level of student engagement.

Elisha Cloy is a Family and Consumer Sciences major from Dallas, Georgia. After graduation, Cloy will begin prerequisite courses for her master’s program with the goal of becoming a language and speech pathologist for youth.

Jamyra Hayes, a Business Management major from Hamiton, Georgia will be joining Aflac, Incorporated as an internal auditor.

FVSU celebrates the success of their valedictorians and look forward to witnessing their bright futures as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Join us in congratulating Elisha Cloy and Jamyra Hayes in this historic accomplishment, as they inspire future generations of students to strive for excellence and reach new heights of academic success.

Both Cloy and Hayes will address the graduating class on May 11 during the 2024 Spring Commencement ceremony at Wildcat Stadium. For more information about Commencement, visit www.FVSU.edu/Commencement.
