Eleven sports are offered by the department: five sports for men (basketball, cross country, football, tennis, and track and field) and six sports for women (basketball, cross country, softball, tennis, volleyball, and track and field). FVSU Athletics is committed to the regulations, programs, and philosophy of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division II.
FVSU Athletics has tasted success for many years, winning conference championships in football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s track and field, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s softball, and women’s cross country. Fort Valley has also appeared in Division II NCAA playoffs, regionals and nationals in the following sports: football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track and field, men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s tennis.
