Your Future in Plant and Environmental Soil Sciences is very promising. The development and practical application of plant and environmental soil sciences to produce abundant, high quality food, feed, fiber, and specialty crops while maintaining environmentally safe standards is challenging. On the other hand, if you enjoy the outdoors and beautifully landscaped areas, then Ornamental Horticulture is for you. No matter which concentration you choose, you will find opportunities for success and rewards in this major.

A Bachelor Of Science Degree in agriculture with a major in Plant Science, Horticulture or Environmental Soil Science will prepare you for a variety of rewarding careers in:

Practical Work Experience And Internships: Plant and Environmental Soil Sciences students usually work during the summer months with agricultural companies, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, research project leaders and many other private and governmental agencies.

Admission Requirements: Good high school background in college prep courses and a university acceptable SAT or ACT score.
